Training for best practice in ILS reporting

by Alison Taylder last modified 2009-11-19 23:31

General information on this course for the public.

Welcome to the distance learning training platform for this course on international labour standards reporting!

This course is organized and run by the Standards and Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work Programme of the International Training Center (ITC) of the ILO.  The ITC is located in Turin, Italy.

This course is offered primarily to government officials who are responsible for reporting on the implementation of ratified and non-ratified ILO Conventions.  Representatives of employers' and workers' organization who also have responsibilities for monitoring reporting activities are also welcome to participate.

The course runs at a distance, via the Internet, during a period of approximately 9 weeks.  Participation in the course requires approximately 2 and one half hours each week, and includes a major written assignment:  preparation of a detailed report on the application of a ratified ILO Convention.  Course materials include written texts as well as multi-media elements and quizes.  A tutor will follow your progress through the course.

If you are interested in participating in this course, please click on the link at the top of this page "Course Application Form", complete the form which you will find there, and click "register" at the bottom of the form.  Your interest and information will be sent to the ITC and you will hear back from the course secretariat about details for actually taking the course.

The Standards and Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work Programme would like to thank all those that have contributed to the realization of this course and, in particular, David Tajgman, who conceived the original arrangement of content for the course, prepared the texts, videos and screencasts, and constructed them on the platform, Tom Wambeke, Alison Taylder, Christian-Xavier Prosperini, Gael Lams and the colleagues of the International Labour Standards Department of the International Labour Office in Geneva.
